At the height of the Great Depression, the showman of a renowned circus leads his troupe through the devastated American landscape, lifting the spirits of audiences along the way. Nick is a man who has no arms or legs and works in a circus of different people, where children laugh at him for not having limbs. Nick the first circus escapes in a truck, one of the workers "Butterfly Circus" finds him and tells others.
